We are holding a Flower Festival in our lovely village church in Eastbury on the afternoon of Saturday 28 May 2016 from 2 till 6 pm and would very much like to invite you to come and enjoy it.

Eastbury is a beautiful Downland village with the River Lambourn flowing through it and St. James’ Church is lucky enough to have a unique window engraved by Laurence Whistler in memory of the war poet Edward Thomas whose family lived in Eastbury.

There will be displays of flower arrangements illustrating ‘A Journey through our Church’. Refreshments will be available and you will also be able to browse at our home-made cake & produce & plants stalls.

Two beautiful village gardens neighbouring the church will be open for you to visit, view and enjoy.

There is to be a photographic competition, and photographs taken of the flowers in the church can be entered to be judged 2 weeks after the flower festival.

We do hope you will be able to join us for the afternoon. Tickets for the day are £6.00 per head but we would welcome bookings in advance (including for groups) at a reduced price of £5 per head. All proceeds will go towards the running costs of our church, St James the Greater, Eastbury. Please let us know the preferred time for your visit so that we can organise the catering and visits to church and gardens.
