Coffee Pot Café
The April Coffee Pot will this month move from its usual Tuesday slot to Saturday 15th April. We like to offer a Saturday date occasionally so those who are not in the village on a week day can join in too. The Coffee Pot Café will open at 10.30am for fresh coffee, tea or squash and homemade cakes and biscuits and to give everyone a lovely chance to catch up with friends and neighbours.
At 11am, we will move outside for the Dedication of the splendid, newly arrived bench in the churchyard in memory of Sir Michael Howard. Sir Max Hastings, Michael’s close friend and confidant will be joining us and will say a few words. The Dedication will be conducted by the Ven Christine Allsopp who knew Michael and who also took his Memorial Service here in Eastbury. We will serve drinks so everyone can raise a glass in Michael’s memory and the Coffee Pot Cafe will stay open until 12 noon. The bench in question was made especially for us by Mick Nimms in Lambourn and we are delighted with it.
