Weddings

If you are both single and either the bride or groom lives in one of our parishes, you are entitled to get married in your parish church. If you do not live in the parish, a qualifying connection has to be found or a licence obtained. Weddings are usually booked around a year ahead and it normally takes a minimum of three months to plan for a wedding. If one of you has been previously married and your previous spouse is still alive then a church wedding is still a possibility but careful exploration of the circumstances will be required.
