Thoughts from The Vicarage on Ascension Day with help needed please.
Greetings on Ascension Day which will be celebrated in St Michel’s at 7.30 this evening.
Please find attached Pews News for days, times and venues for services this weekend and next week.
Thank you to those in St Michael’s who have offered their support as dear Amanda steps down. Amanda took on a great deal for which we are truly grateful, especially the setting up of communion along with the clearing away.
We are now breaking these tasks up into smaller steps and are in need of a number of people to take on the tasks. No experience required as full training will be given. Please be in touch with church warden Ruth 07720 439733, myself 07749 844600 or Christine 07801 096345. Please do consider helping out. It need not be every week and all help would be much appreciated.
Living Well in The End Times begins on June 11th at The Vicarage 3-4.30. Death is a natural part of life! Have you ever wondered about planning your own funeral, writing a will, making a good end to the story of your life or the physical process of dying? These aren’t easy questions to think about, but ones that we will all at some time, be asking ourselves. It will be open to all, so please do feel free to ask about bringing a spouse or a friend. We will meet weekly on six afternoons from 3.00 – 4.30pm at 4 Newbury Street. The series will cover issues related to living well and comfortably with our own mortality and preparing for our own deaths.
And finally, private prayers requested on St Michael’s prayer table are included daily at morning prayer. If you wish someone to be on the Pews News list, simply let me know.
A prayer for the coming week from Bill Braviner:
Give us, Lord,
the strength
and stamina of spirit
that equips us to stand up
for the justice of your kingdom,
to pursue the peace you offer,
to live out your love for all people.
Give us your resolve
to work for the wellbeing of all,
and share the fullness of life. Amen
God bless
Julie
