Thoughts from The Vicarage with St Michael, Ocean fun and Gift Day
Greetings as we look towards a busy few days as we celebrate the Patronal Festival of St Michael & All Angels!
There’s something for everyone with the Gift Day tomorrow Friday 8.30-11am at the Lych Gate, Saturday 9-12.00 sees a celebration with ‘Oceans craft for creation’ – a morning of crafty fun, refreshments and creation for the young and the young at heart with Donni, Sandra & the team. All welcome – make it a family morning!
A reminder that the Patronal Festival of St Michael & All Angels at 10.30 will be the only service on Sunday morning along with a fabulous Choral Evensong with sermon at 6pm.
St Michael’s Gift Day is tomorrow, FRIDAY September 26th.
If you would prefer to give by post, please send to our treasurer, Ian Courtney at 19 Larkdown, Wantage OX12 8HE – or of course pop by the Vicarage or into church and use the card reader. Please read the attached for further information.
Ian, our Treasurer writes; ‘we would like to ask you to consider donating to help us continue to maintain and improve our ancient and beautiful church. As you will know, we have suffered several thefts and attempted thefts of lead from our roof this year – please give what you can: this helps to ensure that our church continues to be available for all of us, both for regular worship and for key life events such as baptisms, weddings and funerals.’
Thank you to all those who contributed to East Garston’s wonderful Harvest events including onion weighing, good food and great company all followed by Harvest Festival as we were called to All Saints by our super bell ringers.

Mercifully grant that, as thy holy Angels alway do thee service in heaven,
so by thy appointment they may succour and defend us on earth;
