Thoughts from The Vicarage with Harvest, a request for young helpers and Gift Days
Greetings as we look ahead to the weekend which sees the first of our Valley Harvest Festivals in St Michael’s Lambourn at 11am. All welcome to this Family Eucharist.
We will be including the gifting of Harvest produce either non-perishable for the West Berks Foodbank or a donation to Christian Aid. All are welcome to this family friendly service here in Lambourn. Please let me know if your child would like to take part – either quietly or take on a reading part. The more the merrier!
Saturday sees Gift Morning at St James along with a market stall and an opportunity to peruse the Local Neighbourhood Development Plan in the church.
Ride & Striders and their supporters will be pleased to know that the forecast bodes well – it’ s not too late to sponsor our riders & striders!
St Michael’s Gift Day is September 28th with a fabulous concert at 6.00 to round off the day! The St Michael’s Benefice Patronal service at 10.30 September 29th
Please find attached a letter from St Michael’s Treasurer, Ian Courtney.
The lay leadership in worship gathering continues to go from strength to strength with much reflection, discussion, worship, prayer and joy! Great to welcome a new face yesterday!The West Berks Foodbank has written thanking supporters for their ongoing contributions – please see the attached poster to see their immediate needs.

And very finally, a prayer at Harvest time
God, the beginning and end of all things, in your providence and care
You watch unceasingly over all creation;
we offer our prayers that in us and in all your people your will may be done,
according to your wise and loving purpose in Christ our Lord.
Lord of all life: hear our prayer.
God bless,
Julie
