Alleluia! Christ is Risen. He is risen indeed. Alleluia!
Good morning on this joyful Eastertide!
The angel said to the women:
“Do not be afraid,
I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here: for he has been raised, as he said.”
The first Easter was into a Good Friday world – Mary coming to the tomb, Simon Peter and the Beloved disciple confused as the tomb is empty; Mary, alone, isolated in the garden.
And in the midst of her confusion and isolation Jesus appears. Jesus continues to show up in the midst of our isolation and confusion – and the hope of the resurrection reminds us that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Indeed, God’s love unites all things – it unites us now spiritually and in the midst of turmoil, and grief, and fear, and uncertainty we are still an Easter people.
Alleluia is still our song!
And finally … a final blessing
ALLELUIA! Christ is risen.
He is risen indeed. ALLELUIA!
God the Father, by whose love Christ was raised from the dead, open to you the gates of everlasting life.
Amen.
God the Son, who burst from the grave to win a glorious victory, give you joy as you live the Easter faith.
Amen.
God the Holy Spirit, whom the risen Lord breathed into his disciples, strengthen you and fill you with Christ’s peace.
Amen.
and the blessing of God Almighty,
the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,
fill your hearts, and rest upon you and remain with you
this glorious Resurrection day and always.
Amen.
