Good afternoon dear Friends of The Valley,
Just a short line today to share this Sunday’s sheet and news of our Churches Count on Nature event tomorrow morning from 10 – 12.30 to which all are welcome. Come along to look more closely at God’s creation, or sit in the peace and quiet or simply explore our beautiful churchyard. The choice is yours.
Alternatively, enjoy the peace and quiet in the churchyards of St James or All Saints and simply take some time to be still in the beauty of God’s creation. As a Year 1 pupil commented ‘God’s really clever to do all this . . . ‘
All week the classes from Lambourn CE Primary school have been recording trees, flowers, insects, birds and snails and simply enjoying the beautiful surroundings right at the heart of the village. Each session ended in prayer or stilling when we remembered the words of Psalm 94 ‘Be still, and know that I am God‘.
As I said to the children the churchyard isn’t mine, or something only for church on Sundays – it is there for everybody and you are welcome – be it for a quiet sit down and a rest, to pray, or to join in looking at God’s creation more closely or even a picnic.
All are welcome tomorrow and refreshments will be ready for you and yours!
Trusting that you have a lovely weekend and that you are able to enjoy the weather – looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, meanwhile
God bless
Julie
