Thoughts from the Vicarage 136

Greetings

Julie has survived her first week of working half time as part of her phased return but has found it very tiring. Please continue to be patient with her.

APCMs: St Michael & All Angels will be on Sunday 8th May at 11.30am, and All Saints on Monday 16th May at 7.30pm, please come to hear about what is happening in your church and elect your PCC and Churchwardens.

Next Sunday (15th May) there will be a special service at 11.00am to celebrate Christian Aid Week led by Paul Tame and Ruth Honey. As this replaces the All Together Eucharist the only opportunity to celebrate communion will be the 8.00am BCP communion at St Michael’s or the 9.30am Family Communion at St James in Eastbury.

There will be a plant stall by the Lych Gate in Lambourn from 9.30am – 11.00am on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st May. Could anybody with green fingers please cultivate a few extra plants to sell. They should be given to Brian Fletcher (01488 72587 just before the event, or he will arrange collection if necessary.

To celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on 5th June, there will be a Civic Service at St Michaels in Lambourn at 12.00. Further details nearer the time

Pathways magazines are still available in church

Don’t forget to register for the Eco conference at Hungerford on Sat 18 June.

As we all become increasingly aware of caring for our environment, I’m sure this will be of interest to many. It promises to be an interesting and thought-provoking event to which all are welcome. Bishop Olivia is hosting the event at which there will be some national quality speakers. To register email Admin@StLawrencesHungerford.org.uk

Best wishes
Keith
