Thoughts from the Vicarage 129

Greetings

I know that many people are expressing an interest in supporting refugees from Ukraine. The Diocese of Oxford are working with Citizens UK to resettle 50 Ukrainian refugees across the diocese before Easter. They are looking for help, not just with offering accommodation, but in many other practical ways. Please see the attached sheet for details.

Don’t forget that our churches are open for prayer and contemplation.

You will be pleased to know that Paul Tame’s family have arrived safely in the UK and are now staying in Great Shefford.

Lent Courses continue this week, both on Monday at Mellor Cottage, and Wednesday at 7.00pm. via Zoom. We don’t have any more of the USPG course booklets, but I understand that the contents are now available online.

Also for your diaries, don’t forget that Mothering Sunday is fast approaching on 27th March, coincidentally the same day that the clocks go forward and British Summer Time begins.

I am glad to say that Julie continues to improve but still tires easily. She has been overwhelmed by the numerous cards, prayers, little notes and flowers that she has received and has asked me to say how much she has appreciated your kindness.

We remain indebted to Christine and the Churchwardens and Secretaries for ensuring that life in the parishes carries on as normally as possible.

Best wishes
Keith
