Thoughts from The Vicarage with Jingle & Mingle and a Flower Festival

Greetings to you and yours as excitement gathers momentum as over 30 exhibits begin to arrive ready for St Michael & All Angels Community Flower Festival. I am really looking forward to seeing all your entries. There are a great variety from young and not so young, from businesses, clubs and individuals. And of course, Lambourn loves a raffle – tickets on sale Friday 7pm, Saturday 10 -4, Sunday 1-4 in church along with delicious cream teas – all in aid of the ‘Restore our Roof Appeal’ with the raffle rounding everything off!

It’s going to be a wonderful community event to which all are welcome – bring families and friends along on either Saturday 10.00 – 4.00 or Sunday 1.00 – 4pm with cream teas in the afternoon from 2.00!

Looking ahead to Sunday 11 o’clock. This will be a Community Flower Festival Celebration service held amidst the gifts of God’s creation, the creativity, the flare and joy on display as we worship our creator God. There’ll be more than 30 displays, painting, pottery and photographs, not to mention flowers all by villagers.

It’s going to be a wonderful Summer thanksgiving for creation, along with the gifts and talents of our villages. All, and I mean all are welcome!

The great clean up last Friday worked wonders – and everything is shiny, clean and wonderful. There was a super team, led by Doug who asks me to say a very big thank you to each and every one of you.

Here are dates for your diary, make sure you make a note now! They include Jingle & Mingle, Summer lunch and Last Night of the Proms …. amongst others.

Finally, thank you for your prayers & concern for Keith. He is ‘under investigation’ but keeping up! We are thankful for the care of the GWH and our surgery here in Lambourn.

Very finally, a prayer:

In the face of the world’s problems and turmoil,
its difficulties and dangers,
help us Lord Jesus,
to lift our focus to you and your kingdom,
to your challenge and call
to follow the way of your gospel, of your love,
to know and
to show your peace to all around us.
Amen

Every blessing,
Julie
