Greetings
This Sunday we warmly welcome Revd Liz Jackson , Assistant Archdeacon to our services in East Garston and Lambourn as Christine will be supporting another Parish and Julie is still recovering. Thank you very much Liz for leading worship this week.
Wednesday@7 continues, thanks to Christine with ‘Living in Love and Faith’. All are welcome to join via Zoom to join. The link is the usual one, on page 2 of Pews News.
If you have the booklet and couldn’t get along last week it’s not too late to join the second session, alternatively there are still a few remaining in both the church and at the vicarage.
Many of you may remember the little ash pots Julie distributed last year – a sort of ‘do it yourself ashing kit’! If you have any Palm crosses lurking at home please do return them to church so we need to prepare the ash ready for this year. The Ash Wednesday service is taking place on 2nd March at 7.30.
Another event for your diary is the Service for the World Day of Prayer at St Michael’s on 4th March at 7.30.
I’ve recently been asked about how to get a name on the prayer list during Julie’s absence. The method remains the same – an email, call or text to Julie and it will be added to the list for Morning Prayer and Compline the same day and listed in the next Pews News.
I am pleased to say that Julie is slowly improving but it is unlikely that she will be strong enough to take all three services as planned next week.
Finally, Iain Whittaker has asked me to thank all those who attended Annie’s funeral yesterday.
He found the service to be a most fitting tribute to her life and appreciates all who sent cards and best wishes. We will continue to hold him in our prayers.
Best wishes
Keith
